RoboCop Director Freeing Entebbe Hostages

Image According to the information resource Deadline , the director Jose Padilla is in talks to lead the shooting of the thriller Entebbe ( Entebbe ) for Working Title and StudioCanal companies.

The film will focus on the events of 1976, when pro-Palestinian terrorists hijacked an Air France aircraft en route from Tel Aviv to Paris. On orders from the mercenaries, the aircraft landed at Entebbe airport in Uganda, where militants held hundreds of people hostage for a week. Their main demand was the release of the Palestinians who were in Israeli prisons.

The events in the film will be described from the point of view of the invaders themselves, their captives and the plane's crew, as well as Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who had to make a difficult decision - to make concessions or to free the hostages by force.

Padilla will be scripted by Gregory Burke ("71").
