Hollywood will tell about the legendary rally of the American mafia

Image Producer Vince P. Maggio intends to take revenge for the failure of the biographical drama "The Gotti Code", which told the audience the story of the life of the boss of the Gambino crime family. As it became known to the publication Deadline, Maggio is preparing a new film project about the mafia. This time, he will take the audience back to 1957 to the famous gathering of the leaders of American organized crime.

In the mid-50s of the last century, the head of the Genovese crime family became the most influential mafioso in the United States and received the honorary title of Boss of Bosses. Don Vito Genovese decided to organize a large-scale gathering of mafia leaders at the country estate of the influential New York gangster Joseph Barbara. Fortunately for the American authorities, local policeman Edgar Croswell watched the house of the criminal in quiet and calm Apalachin.

In early November 1957, an unusually large number of cars began to arrive at the Barbara estate. Breaking through the license plates of the cars, Croswell learned that some of them belonged to famous gangsters. Edgar immediately set up surveillance on the residents of the house and found out that Barbara's son was actively buying food and booking rooms in nearby hotels.

The meeting of the leaders of the North American mafia took place on November 14. Thanks to Croswell's vigilance, the police managed to arrange a large-scale raid and arrest more than fifty guests of the evening. Although in the end the participants in the Apalachin conference escaped with fines and small prison terms, the main achievement of the operation was that the head of the FBI J. Edgar Hoover was finally forced to publicly admit the existence of organized crime in America.

The independent drama tentatively titled Apalachin will be directed by aspiring director Danny A. Abekeiser, while Edgar Croswell will star David Arquette, star of the Scream franchise.
