”Oscar” may be left without a host
The Oscar awards will take place in a month and a half, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has not yet announced the name of Kevin Hart's replacement as host of the ceremony. Recall that the popular American comedian took office on December 5. As early as 48 hours later, Hart had to break the deal with the Film Academy, as advocates of morality and ethics discovered homophobic messages in his old tweets. According to Variety, in the end, everything may end with the fact that the 91st World Film Awards ceremony will be held without a host.It is curious that the last time "Oscar" did without a presenter was exactly 30 years ago. Then it all ended in a loud fiasco. The 61st film awards ceremony was opened by a musical number featuring Rob Lowe and Eileen Bowman in a Snow White costume. The performance was recognized as one of the worst in the history of the Academy and to this day is the object of ridicule from viewers and critics. The result of the ceremony was that her producer Allan Carr solemnly vowed never to take on such events again, and Bowman was forced to sign an additional contract, according to the terms of which she was prohibited from giving any interviews regarding the failed performance. Eileen broke the silence only in 2013, comparing the nightmarish opening musical number of "Oscar - 1989" to a bar mitzvah in a gay club.  According to insiders, the Academy currently has no worthy candidates for the leading role. This is not surprising: after the scandal around Kevin Hart, no one wants to get under the microscope of fighters for social justice. Film academics have not come up with anything better than to follow in the footsteps of the organizers of the ever-memorable "Oscar - 1989". The past year turned out to be fruitful for musical films, and therefore the Academy thought about how to entertain the guests of the evening with the help of a series of dance and song performances. The question is whether the organizers of the Oscar-2019 will be able to give the star participants of these numbers guarantees that they will not disgrace themselves in front of the guests of the evening and the multimillion-dollar TV audience.  The situation around the "Oscar - 2019" can be considered a fair punishment for the extremely ugly behavior of the Academy in relation to other well-known film organizations. Today it became known that some time ago the academics sent letters to the agents of the Hollywood celestials threatening that the participation of their clients in announcing the names of the Golden Globe winners would automatically block their way to the stage of the Dolby cinema, where the Oscars will be awarded. And if earlier the actors could quite calmly participate in both ceremonies as guest stars, then this year they had to make a difficult choice in favor of only one of them.
