Evans is Bruel's best friend
Working on the first season of the action-packed psychological thriller Alienist was the beginning of a good friendship between actors Luke Evans and Daniel Bruhl. According to Deadline, the Welshman and the German decided to star together again - in a remake of the French dramedy "My Best Friend".Patrice Leconte's original film premiered in the fall of 2006. At the center of his plot was the successful Parisian antiquarian Francois (Daniel Otoy), who did not want to admit to himself that he was insanely alone. The protagonist agrees to a bet with a business partner, under which he will either prove within ten days that he has real friends, or will lose an expensive Greek vase. When Francois realizes that none of his colleagues and clients wants to get to know him better, his only hope to win the argument and preserve the subject of antiquity becomes the good-natured taxi driver Bruno (Dani Boone). The idea of creating an English-language version of the French hit hit back in 2008. Oscar-winning Brian Grazer planned to produce the tape, and Wes Anderson was involved in its script. Now the rights to the remake have passed from Universal to Anonymous Content, which chose to abandon the developments of its predecessor. The new script will be written by another member of the Alienista team - producer and showrunner E. Max Fry.  Insiders still find it difficult to say on the set of which project Evans and Bruhl will meet earlier - a remake of My Best Friend or the second season of Alienist.
