According to IndieWire, the Oscar nominee will play legendary composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein in the biopic American.The plot of the film will be based on Humphrey Burton's book "Leonard Bernstein". According to preliminary information, the script by Michael Mitnick ("Initiate") is divided into five parts, each of which will be devoted to some fateful moment in the life of the composer. One segment of the film is expected to unfold in November 1943, when 25-year-old Bernstein had to urgently replace a sick colleague and debut as conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
