Loki and Scarlet Witch May Have Their Own Series
Disney is bringing together the most powerful heroes to launch its upcoming streaming service. The entertainment giant is developing a number of projects with popular characters from the expanded Marvel universe. Perhaps Loki and the Scarlet Witch, along with other superheroes who have not yet had solo films, will receive their own miniseries, reports Variety.According to the source, the new projects will be seriously different from the rest of the Marvel shows. Actors such as Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen, who portrayed the heroes and villains in the Avengers films and their spin-offs, are expected to star in their series. What's more, while insiders have said nothing about the production costs of the projects, Disney is slated to provide budgets on the level of major studio films. Presumably, each show will run from six to eight episodes. Marvel Studios will take over the production and Kevin Feige will take over the production.  Disney is playing its trump card, and this is a sign of how much hope the company is pinning on the new platform. As Netflix and Amazon continue to expand their user base, House of Mice is trying to squeeze into the race to lead the streaming revolution against Hollywood. The company has not disclosed details about the new service, other than that a subscription will likely cost less than Netflix and launch in late 2019. Disney is already closing licensing deals to add as much exclusive content to the platform as possible. The company spends billions of dollars and also takes on the development costs of the original product. The studio has already announced a number of high-profile projects, including a Star Wars series, a show based on High School Musical, and a feature film Lady and the Tramp. Also on the service will be available recently released projects on the big screens, such as "Dumbo" and "Captain Marvel". According to rumors, the Star Wars spin-off will cost about $ 100 million, and film budgets will be around $ 25 million.  Marvel miniseries are in their early stages of development right now, with no directors or screenwriters yet. Sources claim that Agents of SHIELD and Daredevil will remain under the Marvel TV logo, while new shows will receive an MCU banner. At the same time, the main characters of Marvel, such as Iron Man or Captain America, will do without their own shows, and the studio will focus on the minor characters of the franchise.
