Danny Boyle and Irwin Welch take on a new project

Image The legendary duo Danny Boyle and Irwin Welch, who created the cult film Trainspotting, are reunited. This time they will be working on a biopic that will tell about the creation of the music label Creative Records. Danny Boyle will serve as Executive Producer.

The film is based on a memoir by label creator Alan McGee, adapted by Irwin Welch and Dean Kavanagh. Ewan Bremner, best known for his role as Stump in Trainspotting, will try McGee's character. The biopic will also star Rupert Everett ("The Happy Prince"), Sookie Waterhouse ("Assassin Nation") and Jason Fleming ("Jackpot").

The director of the film is Nick Moran, who once played in the movie Lock, Stock, Two Barrels. Working in a team with Boyle is a dream, he says:“This is the most significant British director since Tony Richardson, and today he is considered one of the best and most successful in the world. The last time he and Irwin worked together, they managed to change the world of cinema. Anyone would be happy to be part of such a team! ”.

Irwin Welch, on the other hand, seems equally excited about the new project:“Fortunately, I've been working with Danny and Nick for years now, and I'm fortunate to have both of them in the business. Together with Ewen, it looks like a jackpot. ”.

Creation Records launched bands such as Oasis, Primal Scream, and The Jesus & Mary Chain. At one time, this label was at the forefront of the British pop movement, selling over 60 million records worldwide. The film about the creator of the label tells how a simple guy from Glasgow was able to change British culture. Viewers will see a story about irrepressible ambition, mental throwing, drugs, bankruptcy, incredible wealth and cajolement of politicians.

Filming will begin in May this year. And in September a new film by Danny Boyle will be released - the musical biopic "Yesterday", which tells about a young man who finds himself in an alternative universe where no one knows about The Beatles. Boyle was also supposed to direct the 25th James Bond film, but left the project due to creative differences with the producers.
