Antoine Fuqua can join the Marvel Universe
Perhaps Antoine Fuqua will take the director's chair of the upcoming project of the most popular film comics studio. According to ScreenRant, the director of The Magnificent Seven and The Great Equalizer 2 has an appointment with the head of the Marvel Studio Kevin Feige.The studio is famous for hiring a variety of talented directors for their projects. Some, like Kenneth Branagh ("Thor") and Shane Black ("Iron Man 3"), were already quite famous before their work with Marvel. Others, like James Gunn ("Guardians of the Galaxy") and Taika Waititi ("Thor: Ragnarok"), shot distinctive hits, but it was the comics that made them famous throughout Hollywood. Still others, like the Russo brothers, have risen from sitcom episodes to multi-million dollar blockbusters. If Fukua decides to work with Marvel, he will fall into the first category. The director built his career on films that were widely distributed, starting with "Assassins to Replace". While some projects have not received the critical support they deserve, most of them are collecting decent sums at the worldwide box office. His most famous work is "Training Day," in which Denzel Washington took an Oscar for the title role and Ethan Hawke received a nomination.  During an interview for Heyuguys, Fukua said, "We'll meet with Kevin soon ... And just talk." Most likely, Feige will offer the director to shoot one of the studio's upcoming projects, but it will not be so easy to persuade him. Fukua explained why he has doubts about comic books: “For me, this has to be the right movie because there are always too many special effects in them. What is the director doing there? I need to understand, because it seems to me that this is simple management. They have established production, they have a team, the whole film is sketched ... Is it still being filmed by the director? Or a hundred other people?”. While there are plenty of quiet moments in the Marvel films that reveal the characters' characters, Fukua is right about something, and this worries not only him, but also many filmmakers and actors in the industry.  The director also mentioned that he was in talks with Sony for a solo movie about Morbius. Back in April, he announced meetings with representatives of the studio, but kept silent about his decision. If now Fukua enters into negotiations with Feige, then, probably, the filmmaker refused the picture about a living vampire. If he makes contact with the head of the Marvel studio, then perhaps Denzel Washington, who has often worked with Fukua, will join the upcoming project.
