The last weekend of January brought cinemas about RUB 852 million in revenue, and was also marked by a change in the box office leader. The team of Soviet basketball players, which for three weeks in a row occupied the first line of the financial rating and set all possible records from the highest-grossing USA film in the history of the box office to the record collection of the fourth weekend, finally gave way to another picture.The final installment of the popular teenage Maze Runner franchise was able to snatch the palm from Upward. Wes Ball's fantastic action movie based on the novel by the writer James Dashner has mastered 248 million rubles on the premiere weekend. "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" showed itself at the start better than the first part of the franchise, but the results of the second film still could not catch up. In September 2014, the original painting earned about 215 million rubles on the first weekend, while Trial by Fire a year later already mastered 280 million rubles. As for the final fees, they amounted to 536 million rubles. and 555 million rubles. respectively.  The opinions of reviewers about the continuation of the adventures of the company of brave heroes were divided. Some were happy to finally see the final part of the dystopia, the release of which was postponed for a whole year due to the injury of the leading actor, Dylan O'Brien, and call the triquel quite a good ending to the story. Other viewers complain about the boring script, wooden characters, numerous cliches, as well as monotonous, albeit well-staged action.  Although the sports drama "Moving Up" dropped to the second line of the box office, it continues to be in the top for the fifth week in a row. Last weekend brought an additional 213 million rubles to Anton Megerdichev's film, thereby making the tape sales 40% lower than last weekend. All in all, the picture is currently in the piggy bank of 2.7 billion rubles. The only competitor of "Moving Up" in the rating of the highest-grossing films in the entire modern history of USA distribution, the fantastic blockbuster "Avatar", in 2010, over the same period of time, earned 2.63 billion rubles. Well, in total, James Cameron's film grossed 3.64 billion rubles.  Another novelty of the past week started from the third place - a comedy from Comedy Club Production and TNT TV channel called “Zomboyaschik”. The film, which is a set of parody sketches ridiculing modern television, was able to chalk up 115 million rubles on the premiere weekend. Spectators who decide to go to cinemas to watch the next creation of Garik Kharlamov, Pavel Volya and Alexander Revva, overwhelmingly describe the film with the word "trash". The lack of acting as such, vulgar plots and passing repetitive jokes left indifferent even the most inveterate Comedy Club fans and its residents.  The family film directed by Paul King about the adventures of the talking bear Paddington received a full four-day weekend this week, as a result of which its receipts increased by almost 20% compared to the premiere weekend and amounted to 105 million rubles. In total, the sequel is now just over 215 million rubles. Of course, problems with an unexpected postponement of the release date severely crippled the film's box office. So, the first "The Adventures of Paddington" in 2015 earned 303 million rubles in two weeks of distribution, and then they managed to get almost 400 million rubles from viewers. However, The Adventures of Paddington 2 does not have serious competitors in the family movie genre in the near future, so perhaps a new story about a fluffy orange marmalade lover can still catch up with the results of the previous part.  Horror "Astral 4: The Last Key" dropped from the second line to the fifth. Last weekend, the fourth part of the popular film franchise about the mystical adventures of a psychic performed by actress Lin Shai received 63 million rubles from the audience. In total, after a few days of previews and two weeks of official screenings, The Last Key is worth 364 million rubles, which makes the picture the most financially successful of all the films in the series in our box office.
