Image Amazon has acquired the film rights to Mag Walitzer's novel The Female Persuasion, "Feminine Persuasion," according to Variety. The film is being produced by Oscar-winning Nicole Kidman, Linda Obst (Contact) and Per Saari (The Danish Girl). The upcoming film will mark Kidman's Blossom Films' first project with Amazon. The actress also has the opportunity to play one of the roles in the film.

The action of "Feminine Persuasion" will unfold around Greer Kadetsky, who is harassed by a classmate at her first student party. The girl gathers courage and speaks out about women's rights, but her opponent turns out to be a manipulator, and the college leadership can do nothing about it. Greer then meets activist Zee and feminist icon Faith Frank, who give her confidence and motivate her to support women around the world.

This Is Us showrunner Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will write and executive produce the film. Newly minted Amazon studio head Jennifer Salk has already worked with Uptaker and Berger on NBC, where their show is broadcast.
