The Cinema Foundation held the sixth competition to support cinemas located in small towns and rural settlements. As a result, 204 halls will be modernized, each of which will receive about five million rubles.In order to receive an irrevocable subsidy, a cinema hall must fulfill a number of conditions. For example, half of the screenings in a quarter should consist of domestic content, and the number of days of film screenings should be at least fifty in the same quarter. Over the past three years, more than 800 halls have been renovated in this way. The first cinema hall refurbished this year will open its doors in the Jewish Autonomous Region.
