Series lovers will remember Laura Vandervoort for such projects as the sci-fi thriller The Visitors of the ABC channel and the mystical drama about werewolves "Bitten" from the Canadian Space. Soon, film fans will find out about the actress: according to The Hollywood Reporter, she got the main role in a remake of the cult classic of the 70s - the film "Mad" by David Cronenberg. Sisters Sylvia and Jen Souska (American Mary) will lead the filming.According to the plot of the original, after an accident and the subsequent experimental skin transplant operation, the main character develops a sting, and in addition to it, a hellish thirst for human blood. In moments of hunger, she completely does not control herself and bites everyone in a row, infecting with rabies. Soon a real epidemic begins in the city. In the remake, Laura Vandervoort's character, Rose, will also survive the accident, only stem cells will treat her, and this therapy will lead to dire consequences.  John Serge (Veronica Mars) helped write the script for the Sousk sisters, and the project will be funded by Media Finance Capital from London and Telefilm Canada. No start date has yet been announced. Laura Vandervoort was last seen on the big screens last year, in the eighth installment of the Saw 8 horror franchise.
