Image In May this year, legendary director Ridley Scott announced that film studios are experiencing particularly high competition from TV channels and online services these days. The adaptation of the book will be handled by the British Writers Guild Award nominee Gaby Chiappe (Their Finest Hour). With 15 novels in the Strangeways detective series, the BBC and Scott Free Productions have a great opportunity to build a long-running television franchise out of it.
