Soon after her recent triumph at the Critics' Choice Awards, famous singer Lady Gaga admitted that at some point she began to doubt her acting abilities and even thought about giving up her career in Hollywood and concentrating exclusively on musical creativity. Fortunately for the audience, the pop star did not give in to difficulties and proved that she is a very multifaceted person.In 2016, Lady Gaga won a Golden Globe for her role in the fifth season of the television anthology American Horror Story. This winter, she again became an active participant in the struggle for prestigious acting awards thanks to the musical film A Star is Born. In just a few days, the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce the nominees for the Oscar. The musical diva has excellent chances to compete for victory in two categories at once - "Best Actress" and "Best Song". Recently, the singer said that the success of the Bradley Cooper film made her much more self-confident, and now she will delight viewers with new roles more often. OK magazine shares rumors that Lady Gaga wants to cement her star status in Hollywood and is ready to fight for the role of Cleopatra with Angelina Jolie herself.  The picture about the last queen of Egypt is rightfully considered one of the main long-term construction of the Dream Factory. The first building blocks of the project were laid back in the middle of the last decade. Over the years, David Fincher, James Cameron, Paul Greengrass, Ang Lee and Denis Villeneuve have been among the contenders for the directorial chair of the historical epic, but Sony has not been able to get it off the ground. It seems that the management of the major does not lose hope of launching the film into production. Angelina Jolie has been attached to the role of Cleopatra since the inception of the project, but in recent years, her career has undergone major changes. In 2011, the Oscar-winning actress made her successful directing debut. Since then, she began to work much more not in front of, but behind the camera. Suffice it to say that the last time Jolie appeared on the big screen was in 2015 in her own film Cote d'Azur.  Angelina is already preparing a huge return to the cinema screens in the sequel "Maleficent", which will premiere in May next year. The main question is whether the creators of "Cleopatra" will wait until the actress finally regains her superstar status. It is possible that the producers will prefer to invite Lady Gaga for the title role, who is able to provide the project with no less audience interest than Jolie.
