Football fever has come to an end, but the championship finals over the weekend still drew significant attention from the audience. Nevertheless, the total box office receipts were again able to show positive dynamics: in a week they increased by 38% and amounted to about 758 million rubles. This was facilitated by the launch of two major foreign novelties at the same time in USA.The strongest of them turned out to be the continuation of the popular animation franchise "Monsters on Vacation". In the third part, Monsters on Vacation 3: The Sea Calls, Dracula and his friends take a cruise on a luxury liner. There, the count unexpectedly falls in love with the captain of the ship, who keeps a terrible secret that can threaten the existence of all monsters. Of the projected 450 million rubles. for the premiere weekend, the triquel was able to earn 364 million rubles. And if the first cartoon "The Sea is Calling" was bypassed at the start (he collected 188 million rubles in 2012), then he was a little short of the results of the sequel. Three years ago, "Monsters on Vacation 2" for the debut weekend mastered 377 million rubles.  Opinions of critics and viewers about the new product from Sony Pictures Animation were divided. On the one hand, the cartoon, like its predecessors, turned out to be bright, funny and exciting, but on the other hand, its plot became quite banal. Reviewers note that the amount of music, the variety of which the franchise used to be distinguished by, has decreased, and the new characters came out much less pleasant and charming than the monsters of all stripes already loved by the audience. And even though you cannot call a completely bad picture, it is much inferior to the first two parts of the story.  Two times less "Monsters" for the premiere weekend managed to earn the action movie "Skyscraper", where the indefatigable Dwayne Johnson again acts as a savior. When the world's tallest and most technologically advanced skyscraper becomes the center of a fiery catastrophe, former FBI agent and now security expert Will Sawyer has to throw all his strength into resolving the situation, especially since his family's life is in danger. For the first four days at the box office, Skyscraper managed to write down 170 million rubles. This result is quite a bit inferior to the premiere fees of the recent "Rampage" (182 million rubles) with the same Johnson in the title role, but before the debut box office of the films "San Andreas Rift" (263 million rubles) and "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" (292 million rubles.) The new product is very far away. According to reviewers, although the film is full of action, its action develops rapidly and does not slow down until the very end, it lacks inventiveness and tension. This is partly the fault of the directors and scriptwriters of the action movie, but the fact that the audience was simply tired of contemplating Dwayne Johnson as a strong and fearless superhero also played a role. There is no doubt that his character will be able to defeat everyone and get out of all troubles, and therefore it is impossible to worry about him.  Ant-Man and his partner Wasp could not maintain their leadership position and immediately dropped to the third line of the box office. In the second week of the box office, the box office revenue with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in the lead roles sank 64% to RUB 120 million. In total, Ant-Man and the Wasp currently has 588 million rubles in its assets. Although the first Ant-Man in 2015 showed a smaller drop in fees, around 59%, the result for two weeks was much more modest - 499 million rubles.  The USA horror film Mermaid. Lake of the Dead. Analysts predicted the premiere gross for the film in the region of 80 million rubles, and although the picture could not meet expectations, for the first weekend it managed to cover the cost of filming, which amounted to 40 million rubles. The director's past projects started at the box office much better. So, "The Queen of Spades: Black Rite" in 2015 mastered 65 million rubles on the premiere weekend, having finished renting with the amount of 140 million rubles. And the "Bride" last year was able to earn 97 million rubles at the start, eventually collecting about 182 million rubles. Critics and viewers accepted the new picture of Podgaevsky coolly. In their reviews, they note the work of the operator, make-up artists and decorators, which resulted in a juicy and atmospheric picture. But the plot itself, or rather its implementation, disappointed them. The script came out weak, the dialogues and everything that happens is banal, and the screamers do not cope with their task at all.  Closing the list of leaders is the crime comedy Ocean's 8, which dropped from third to fifth place. The fourth week in the USA box office brought the film an additional 11 million rubles, thus the tape's revenue fell by 67% compared to the results of the last weekend.
