Val Kilmer will be back at the helm
Filming kicked off last week in San Diego for the highly anticipated sequel to Top Gun. According to The Wrap, the sequel to the hit of the 80s will give viewers a new meeting not only with the master of aerial combat, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell performed by Tom Cruise, but also with his implacable rival Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, whose role will return Val Kilmer.In recent years, Kilmer has struggled with laryngeal cancer and rarely delighted his fans with roles in big movies. Now the disease has finally receded, and Val decided to return to one of the most memorable images in his film career. The actor has already been spotted in San Diego, but the management of Paramount studio is in no hurry to officially confirm his participation in the project. Best Shooter played an important role in the fate of Cruise and Kilmer. The picture received conflicting reviews in the press, but enjoyed immense success with ordinary viewers. The action movie Tony Scott achieved a truly unique achievement: thanks to word of mouth in the fourth week of distribution, the owners of cinemas increased the number of his shows by one and a half times. As a result, "The Best Shooter" earned over $ 356 million at the worldwide box office with a budget of $ 15 million.  The sequel is being led by Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion). The details of the plot of the film are still kept secret. Earlier it was reported that the action of the picture may unfold in the near future, when drones will begin to rule the ball in air battles.
