Matt Reeves will rewrite other people's memories

Image The writer Blake Crouch is popular with American producers. His book trilogy was first used in the series Wayward Pines, after TNT released the crime drama Good Behavior based on Crouch's novellas, and Sony is going to turn one of his novels into a feature film. So it's no surprise that Crouch's next book, which hasn't even been published yet, has already caught the attention of the online service Netflix.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Matt Reeves (Planet of the Apes: Revolution, Monstro) and television producer Shonda Rhimes, who has numerous hit series, will work together to adapt a book called Recursion. It will hit store shelves only next summer, but Netflix management is so interested in Crouch's new work that they are ready to shoot not only a full-length film based on it, but also create an entire television universe based on it.

The work combines several genres at once: sci-fi thriller, melodrama and intricate police procedure. In the story, a brilliant scientist creates a technology that allows people not only to relive the most memorable moments, but also to redo them. For some, this is a chance to completely rewrite their own lives, but fall into the wrong hands, and the familiar world will change forever.

Rhimes admitted that it is for the sake of such projects with a multi-genre focus and interesting characters that she collaborates with Netflix. Well, Crouch claims to be happy to work with titans of TV and cinema like Shonda and Matt Reeves. In the plans of the latter, by the way, there is still a new Batman solo album, but it is not yet clear when Warner Bros. will start filming it.
