Lily James (Natasha Rostova in War and Peace) and Armie Hammer (Call Me by Your Name) will take part in the new adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's dark gothic novel Rebecca. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ben Wheatley ("Strange Angel") will direct the film from a script by Jane Goldman ("Kingsman: The Secret Service").Published in 1938, the book tells the story of a young woman (James) who recently married Maximilian de Winter (Hammer) and arrives at his family's estate on the foggy English coast, where she is given a completely unfriendly welcome: the house is filled with memories of Rebecca, who died a year ago, the first Mrs. de Winter, and lives according to her routine ...
