War and Peace miniseries cast announced
The BBC and The Weinstein Co. The cast of the upcoming mini-series "War and Peace", based on the novel of the same name by Leo Tolstoy, has been announced. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. In the TV adaptation based on a script by Andrew Davis (House of Cards), Paul Dano (Captives, 12 Years of Slavery), Lily James (The Abbey Downton, Cinderella) and James Norton (Belle, Happy Valley). The miniseries, directed by Tom Harper ("Peaky Blinders", "The Woman in Black 2: Angels of Death"), will consist of six one-hour episodes. Dano will play Pierre Bezukhov, James – Natasha Rostov, and Norton – Prince Andrei Bolkonsky. To movie this epic and legendary story with stars of this caliber – this is a real delight. Lily, Paul and James are incredibly talented actors, and they will need all their skill to convey the full scale of the work.
