Netflix Teaches You How to Make Money
Online service Netflix will introduce viewers to the rules of the game on the New York Stock Exchange. Variety has learned that the streaming giant is starting work on the adaptation of Michael Lewis's novel Flash Boys.Sony originally held the rights to the film adaptation of the best-selling book, which intended to bring Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin to the film. To the dismay of studio bosses, at the end of 2014, the Hollywood dialogue master turned his attention to The Big Game. For three and a half years, Sony has not found a worthy replacement for Sorkin and returned the rights to film the book to its author, who immediately struck a new deal with Netflix. Lewis's novel immerses readers in the world of high-frequency trading and tells how the use of computer algorithms and fiber-optic communication lines revolutionized Wall Street.  The financial drama, tentatively titled Fast Boys, will be the fourth adaptation of Lewis's novels. Earlier, based on the works of Michael, the films "The Invisible Side", "The Man Who Changed Everything" and "The Selling Game" were shot, which have won a total of two Oscars in 13 nominations. The adaptation of the Wall Street Secrets book will be handled by up-and-coming Hollywood author Ben Jacoby, whose name came to light at the end of last year, when one of his scripts was included in the famous Dream Factory Blacklist of the Best Unrealized Ideas.
