Netflix takes teenage viewers seriously

Image As the streaming giant Netflix believes, there is never too much teen content, and therefore the bosses of the service acquired the rights to film adaptations of three Sarah Dessen novels. The first will be a film adaptation of the book Along for the Ride, followed by This Lullaby and Once and For All. Each work has been in the top bestsellers of The New York Times at one time.

In the center of the plot of Along for the Ride is a girl named Oden. After her parents divorced, the heroine will have to spend a carefree summer in the beach house of her father and his new family. Here, a modest student meets a lonely and insomniac guy. Together, young people explore the city's nightlife and themselves.

The film is produced by Brian Uncless and Eric Newman, who worked on Brightness, starring Will Smith. For Netflix, this will be a logical continuation of the success of romantic comedies.
