Will Fox eliminate the mutants?
Two days before the voting by the members of the Fox Corporation on the deal of the century with the studio of Disney, sensational rumors about the blockbusters "Dark Phoenix" and "New Mutants" appeared on the Internet. Several foreign publications at once published unconfirmed information that both projects could go to the shelf.The fate of movie comics has been in limbo since last December, when Fox and Disney representatives first confirmed information about a possible studio merger. The original premiere date for "Dark Phoenix" was set for November this year. Fans of "X-Men" began to worry that the tape would not be released before the completion of the deal, and its further future would depend on the bosses of the Marvel studio. Rather than clarify this difficult situation even a little, Fox executives postponed the blockbuster release to an even later date. In recent months, rumor has circulated in Hollywood that the tape received devastating reviews during test views and was sent to expensive additional filming. After Dark Phoenix was left out of the Comic-Con festival, moviegoers had new suspicions that something was wrong with the project.  Now there are rumors on the web that the horror "New Mutants" has also failed on test runs. According to insiders, the current versions of the two new Fox comics look even worse than the ever-memorable Fantastic Four. Rumor has it that studio executives will not wait until the deal with the Walt Disney empire is completed and will send the films to the shelf on their own. Fans of the film world have already seen leading Hollywood studios spend insane amounts of money on frantic last-minute attempts to save blockbusters that have failed in test screenings. It looks like Fox can go even further and won't release two movie comics with a total cost of several hundred million dollars.  Officials from 20th Century Fox have so far refrained from comment.
