Fox remembered Gambit?

Image It looks like the February rumors that 20th Century Fox will squeeze all the juice out of the X-Men franchise will turn out to be true. The GWW is sharing unconfirmed information that the major's management intends to revive the long-suffering film adaptation of the Gambit comics.

The film about the adventures of the mutant Remy Lebeau has been in development since 2014. Since then, Rupert Wyatt, Doug Lyman and Gore Verbinski have been in the director's chair of the film. To the disappointment of X-Men fans, none of these directors ever managed to stay at the helm of the project.

After Verbinski pulled out of the film in January of this year, there was a feeling that Gambit would be frozen. But Fox executives have a merger with Disney that could jeopardize the fate of a number of mutant films.

There is a possibility that the Walt Disney empire will send all Fox comics to the shelf and start using mutants in the Marvel Universe. However, many Hollywood insiders are more optimistic. According to some sources, Disney's management is ready to meet its new partners halfway and release those X-Men films that will be filmed by the time the merger agreement comes into effect. According to preliminary data, the deal will be closed in the second half of next year. In order to make the last money out of mutants, Fox will have to begin filming Gambit in the coming months.

Rumor has it that the studio has already booked the pavilions of the Big Easy Studios for February next year. If rumors about the resuscitation of "Gambit" are confirmed, information about the director and the cast of the film should soon appear.
