The conquest of outer space, comparable in importance to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, is the basis for the self-identification of our people. Which, fortunately, is not associated with millions of victims, but is also filled with dedication and heroism. One of the most exciting chapters of this story - the feat of Alexei Leonov and Pavel Belyaev, is devoted to the movie "Time of the First", which, without any exaggeration, will allow viewers to be proud not only of victories of quite real heroes, but also of a qualitatively new level of our cinema. The movie "Time of the Firsts" surprisingly absorbed the best traditions of our cinema, with its rich experience in creating chamber dramas with a couple of locations and just a few actors, and large-scale Hollywood blockbusters based on sophisticated video sequences. "Time of the First" is the wonderful acting work of Konstantin Khabensky (Belyaev), Vladimir Ilyin (Korolev) and, of course, Yevgeny Mironov (Leonov), who managed to create truly vivid images that make viewers empathize and laugh. p> "Time of the First" is a script that is rare for modern USA cinema smoothness, in the creation of which Yuri Korotkov, Sergey Kaluzhanov, Irina Pivovarova, Dmitry Pinchukov and Oleg Pogodin took part. The action does not sag for a second, smoothly flowing from one genre to another - from melodrama, into thriller, then into a disaster movie, in order to become a full-fledged drama and philosophical parable in a minute. "Time of the First" is a high-quality special effects and the work of production designers. Layouts, models, interior elements, appliances and minor details such as fans, radios, porcelain figurines on shelves that create a sense of the era. "The Time of the First" is an excellent camera work by Vladimir Bashta ("The Brest Fortress", "The Geographer Drank the Globe"), causing either an almost real attack of claustrophobia in the cramped airlock, or a feeling of danger and falling from a first-person view. "Time of the First" is the undoubted creative success of the director Dmitry Kiselev, who previously had some very successful, but rather similar comedies from the "Fir-Trees" series. At first glance, not quite a trivial choice of the director, made by the production group headed by Timur Bekmambetov, and he fully justified itself. "Time of the First" is one of the few modern USA movie projects, which, even with some rough edges, does not want to criticize at all. And not at all because "we were the first", this is understandable. The point is not in "scraping", patriotism and nostalgia for past victories. It's just a good movie. Emotional, lively, timely and utterly ours. In a very good sense of the word. In the end, this is a movie about Alexei Leonov, whose biography is more fantastic than any plot invented by the most talented scriptwriters and an example of, alas, an almost forgotten nowadays simple and capacious formula of life consisting of only three words - If the Motherland Orders! PS After the historic spacewalk, Alexei Arkhipovich Leonov was preparing for a flight to the Moon as part of the Soviet program to conquer a natural satellite of the Earth. In 1969, he almost died while in a government car, which was shot by officer Viktor Ilyin, who was planning to kill Brezhnev. In 1971 he was the crew commander of the infamous Soyuz 11. A few days before the start, due to illness of the co-pilot, the crew was replaced with a backup one consisting of Dobrovolsky, Volkov, Patsaev. All of them died on landing due to the depressurization of the capsule. In 1975 he was the commander of the Soyuz 19 crew that flew under the Soyuz-Apollo program.
