Revolutionary James Cameron, who believes that the future of cinematography lies not only in stereoscopy, but also in movies with a frequency of 48 to 60 frames per second, found a loyal follower in the person of Peter Jackson. According to MarketSaw3D, a New Zealand director is movieing the 'The Hobbit' dilogy 30 RED EPIC cameras with a frame rate of 47.96.

It is not yet known whether Warner Bros. process all frames captured by Jackson, or prefer standard rate. The cost of additional rendering can significantly increase the budget for a project.

Earlier, Cameron claimed that Jackson tried out the method he proposed and was extremely pleased with the result.
