Filmmaker Red Tells Hitler's Story
Director Robert Schwentke decided to remember his German roots and make a movie about how the Nazis came to power in Germany. According to Variety, the movie will be based on the real story of the struggle of the journalists of the Munich Post newspaper with the gaining strength of the Nazi party in the late 20s and early 30s of the last century. After winning the elections in 1933, the Nazis destroyed the printing house, closed the publication, and its employees were arrested. Schwentke intends to show German society of this period and try to explain how Hitler managed to achieve such popularity.
