Book by George R. R. Martin on Dragons will be republished
Children's book `` Ice Dragon '' author of the cycle of novels `` A Song of Ice and Fire '' George R.R. Martin, will be reprinted with new illustrations by renowned Spanish fantasy artist Luis Royo. This is reported by The Telegraph. The short story The Ice Dragon, first published in 1980 as part of the anthology Dragons of Light, was released in 2007 as a separate edition with illustrations by Yvonne Gilbert. Parents who are familiar with Martin-based Game of Thrones shouldn't worry about their children's psyche: Ice Dragon more like one of the works of Hans Christian Andersen than the traditional style of Martin. The book tells the story of the girl Adara. Born in the heart of winter, Adara is the only person in the village who has managed to befriend the mystical Ice Dragon, a legendary creature that visits the village during the cold winter. Despite the lack of direct references to the fact that the action takes place in the book in Westeros – State in Game of Thrones - fans of the writer's work and the HBO series can notice the coincidences that come across in both works: dragons and long harsh winters. Also in the novel A Dance with Dragons, part of the Song of Ice and Fire cycle, Jon Snow recalls listening to tales of the Ice Dragon as a child, which is also an indirect allusion to one universe.
