Oz: The Great and Powerful has a sequel
Even before the start of the worldwide release of Oz: The Great and Terrible the Walt Disney company gave the green light creation of its continuation. This is reported by the Variety edition. Mitchell Kapner, who previously worked on the plot of the comedy Nine Yards, is appointed the scriptwriter of the future picture. It is not yet known if the movie will be another original prequel to The Wizard of Oz. or it will become a new adaptation of the famous fairy tale by Frank Baum. Recall that its most famous adaptation for the big screen was the 1939 musical directed by Victor Fleming. Will Sam Raimi return to director's chair, not yet specified.
