Sam Raimi to direct the Wizard of Oz prequel in 3D
Director Sam Raimi has accepted an offer from Walt Disney Studios to movie Oz The Great and Powerful, which will be a prequel to The Wizard of Oz. This is reported by the resource Deadline Hollywood. The picture is said to be Reimi's next directorial project. Most likely, the story of the wizard's rise to power in the Emerald City will be movieed in 3D. Earlier it was reported that the main role in the movie should be played by Robert Downey Jr., however, the actor's overly busy schedule may prevent him from taking part in this project.
