Netflix to movie a TV series about Elizabeth II
Video service Netflix and Sony Pictures Television are in the process of signing an agreement to co-produce the drama series "The Crown," based on Peter Morgan's play "The Audience." This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The play, staged by the Royal National Theater in London, which premiered in 2013, recounts the weekly audiences that Queen Elizabeth II has arranged for her prime ministers since 1952 to this day. Helen Mirren donned the crown for the second time after her role as Elizabeth II in the 2006 Oscar-winning Morgan screenplay The Queen. Morgan will executive produce the upcoming series. Stephen Daldry & Andy Harris featuring Robert Fox and Matthew Biam-Shaw (Frost vs. Nixon). Morgan is a two-time Academy Award nominee for adapted screenplay for his play Frost vs. Nixon and for the original screenplay for Queen.
