Online service Netflix has begun work on the historical drama The Crown , according to The Hollywood Reporter .The creators of the series plan to talk about the relationship of Queen Elizabeth II with the most famous British Prime Ministers of the twentieth century. Spectators will witness the most high-profile scandals and undercover games in the history of the residences of the first persons of the United Kingdom - Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street . In the first season, the public will meet Elizabeth at the age of 25, when she will face the prospect of ascending the throne and begin cooperation with the powerful Prime Minister Winston Churchill.  The script for the drama was written by two-time Oscar nominee Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost vs. Nixon). The series' directors included Stephen Daldry (The Watch), Philip Martin (The Forger) and Julian Jarrold (Great Expectations). Elizabeth II will appear as Claire Foy (Skull and Bones / Crossbones ), and Churchill will play John Lithgow ("Dexter" / Dexter ). The role of the Queen's consort, Philip Mountbatten , was given to Matt Smith (Doctor Who / Doctor Who ).  The ten-episode first season of the historical drama will premiere next year.
