Academy Awards presented first Oscars
In Los Angeles took place the ceremony of presenting the honorary awards of the American Film Academy. Actors Steve Martin and Angela Lansbury became the winners of the award. It is noteworthy that 88-year-old Lansbury was awarded an Oscar 70 years after its first nomination. Angelina Jolie received the Gene Hersholt award for her great contribution to humanitarian work.
