Universal Pictures has chosen to direct the new version of The Mummy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alex Kurtzman will become it. Note that the studio had previously planned to abandon the adventure concept that dominated in previous versions and make a full-fledged horror movie. However, it is now argued that the project will still be an adventure with horror elements. Recall that the original picture was released in 1932, followed by four sequels.
