Universal has set a premiere date for the new version of The Mummy. According to the official press release, the picture will be presented to viewers on April 16, 2016. The director of the remake is Andres Muschetti, who previously directed the movie Mama. The cast of the project has not yet been approved. Note that Universal intends to abandon the adventure concept and make a full-fledged horror movie. Recall that the original movie was released in 1932, followed by four sequels. The studio returned to this topic only in 1999, releasing the first remake, which also spawned several sequels, the last of which was released in 2008.
