Within a week, all government agencies of the city will use the new name in their documents. In addition, a clock will be installed on the central square of the city, measuring the number of minutes remaining before the premiere, with the symbols of The Hobbit. the city's streets and international airport will be decorated, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy will be shown at various cinemas in the city. The premiere itself will be attended by Peter Jackson and the leading actors.

In total, more than a million New Zealand dollars will be spent on the premiere events from the city treasury.
