Kyle McLachlan's involvement in Twin Peaks sequel confirmed
Special Agent Dale Cooper is back. A few months later, rumors of Kyle McLachlan's involvement in the resumed nine-episode TV show, a sequel to Twin Peaks, have been confirmed. The actor himself announced this during the Television Critics Association exhibition. He is quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. "Looks like you need a great cup of coffee," McLachlan said in Cooper's manner as he joined the conference onstage by Showtime President David Nevins. Nevins, in turn, introduced McLachlin, adding that the actor will have a major role in the show, and information on the rest of the cast will be announced as the project progresses. Recall that as soon as October 2014 appeared news about that the original 90s mystery series by David Lynch and Mark Frost will be resumed on Showtime, McLachlan has begun hinting about his return to the role of Agent Dale Cooper. Nevins confirmed that he saw the first draft of the script, but declined to disclose which -or plot details. He only noted that Lynch and Frost had been hatching the idea of reviving the project for more than one year. "I think, in David's mind, twenty-five years is the magic number," Nevins emphasized. Kyle McLachlan said goodbye to the audience as he left the conference, saying, "I look forward to returning to the strange world of Twin Peaks. Yes the forest will be with you. " Later, after the conference, Nevins told a group of journalists, that some of the actors from the original series will be returning to a new TV project closer to the beginning of movieing.
