Tony Award Winner Brian Cranston, who played Lyndon Baines Johnson in the Broadway production of All the Way, will return to the 36th President of the United States in the television version of the play in collaboration with Steven Spielberg and his studio Amblin Entertainment. This is reported by Deadline.

The synopsis of the Broadway play, written by Robert Shankkan and directed by Bill Rauch, reads as follows: "1964: A Turning Year in American History" civil rights law passed, America is in the Vietnam War ... and one man is at the center of it all, determined to raise the country from its ashes and rebuild it into a Great Society - whatever it takes. Hero. Bully. The president. He was ready to play any role to achieve the goal. Nothing personal – just politics. ''

Details of the future television production are not yet known, although there is a possibility that the miniseries will include material from Shankkan's new play, The Great Society, which chronicles Lyndon Johnson's life after 1964 year.
