Brian Cranston and Kevin Hart are in talks to participate in the American remake of the popular French tragicomedy "1 + 1", which is going to be movieed by Weinstein Co. This is reported by the Variety edition.

Simon Curtis has been appointed to direct the movie based on a script by Paul Feig. In the original of 2011, the plot revolved around a paralyzed aristocrat hiring a young man from the immigrant suburbs of Paris as his assistant. Gradually, a working relationship develops into a friendship. The main roles were played by Francois Cluse and Omar Sy. For the latter, participation in "1 + 1" became a pass to Hollywood.

With a production budget of only $ 12 million and a worldwide gross of over $ 400 million, it has become one of the most successful French movies in history.

Studio Weinstein Co. acquired the rights to shoot the remake shortly after 1 + 1's release. Filming is expected to start in summer 2016. The possible rental schedule of the picture at the time of this writing was not specified.

As for Brian Cranston, in 2016 viewers will be able to see the actor in the movie "Until the End", in which he had to play US President Lyndon Johnson.
