MTV ordered production of Scream
MTV has commissioned the production of the first season of Scream, based on Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson's popular horror franchise Scream. The ten-episode TV project will premiere in October 2015. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. MTV has used social media to advertise the upcoming series, sending out a mysterious message to its subscribers with a phone number. To those who called this number, a male voice asked the question: "Do you like scary TV shows?" Development of the project officially began in the spring of 2014. Will Fitzgerald (Emma Duvall), Bex Taylor-Claus (Audrey Jensen), John Karna (Noah Foster), Carlson Young (Brooke Maddock), Connor Weil (Will), Tracey Middendorf (Maggie Duvall), Joel Gretsch (Sheriff Clark Hudson) and Amadeus Serafini (Kieran Wilcox). Jamie Travis (Falsification) movieed the pilot from the original script by Jay Beatty and Dan Dworkin (Criminal Minds). Jill E. Blotvogel ("Eureka") will be the executive producer and showrunner of the project. The original franchise executive producers Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein will return to their duties alongside Wes Craven, Katie Konrad and Marianne Maddalena. The author and screenwriter Kevin Williamson, who oversees three projects – "Stalker", "Followers" and "The Vampire Diaries" - not involved in the project. R.
