Mad Men star Christina Hendrix has co-starred in Showtime's "Roadies" comedy pilot. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The comedy follows the life of a successful rock band through the eyes of the team members serving it on a tour between destinations. Hendrix will play Shelley, the program director. She is described as a resourceful, tough, but quite emotional young woman, "married" to her job, which she does damn well. Her partner, Bill, will be played by Luke Wilson (Simple Truths).

Academy Award-winning Best Screenplay Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous) will write and direct the pilot in early 2015 in Vancouver. The comedy will be produced by Warner Bros. Television, Bad Robot, Vinyl Films and Dooley & Company Productions, with Vinnie Holtzman and JJ Abrams sharing executive producer roles. Holtzman has also been appointed showrunner for the project.

Hendrix has joined the cast, which includes Imogen Poots (Lord of Love), Keisha Castle-Hughes (Rider the Whale), Peter Cambor (NCIS: Los -Angeles) and Rafe Spall (Prometheus).

Five-time Emmy nominee Hendrix starred in the feature-length projects Drive, Bomb and Ryan Gosling's directorial debut How to Catch a Monster .
