TV series Shameless and House of Lies renewed for next season

Showtime has extended its two TV series – "Shameless" and "House of Lies" for the fifth and fourth seasons, respectively. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter with reference to Showtime. Each season will consist of 12 episodes.

The fourth season of Shameless family dramedy from showrunner John Wells, which began on January 12, 2014, attracts an average of 5.5 million viewers in total views, an increase of eight percent better than the third season and 22 – second. The fourth season of the black comedy starring William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum is currently the most watched season of the show.

The third season of House of Lies attracts nearly three million people a week. The dramedy from executive producer Matthew Carnahan continues to fuel the popularity of Don Cheadle, who was nominated for the 2013-2014 Emmy and Golden Globe awards.

Shameless and House of Lies join the previously renewed TV series "Episodes" in the program schedule for 2015. The cable channel is completing this year's Californian comedy, which kicks off its seventh and final season in April alongside the sixth season of Sister Jackie. The fourth season of Web Therapy will also debut this year.

Showtime recently announced the start of work on the Comedy Happiness, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. Due to the tragic death of the actor, the fate of the series remains unclear.
