Cable Channel Syfy has commissioned the production of the space opera "The Expanse". As reported by ComingSoon, citing Syfy, the series will consist of ten episodes. The series will be based on the popular series of novels "Space" by writers Daniel Abraham and Ty Frank, working under the pseudonym James S. A. Corey. Mark Fergus and Hawke Ostby ("Human Child") wrote the script for the pilot episode and will continue to work on the project as writers and executive producers. The thriller, which takes place 200 years in the future, describes the case of a missing young woman who brought together a hardened detective and a rogue spaceship captain. Together they will uncover the greatest conspiracy in human history.
