CBS found its Nancy Drew
"On Sight" star Sarah Shahi has been cast as famed detective Nancy Drew in the pilot of CBS's "Drew". This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Based on a series of books written by several authors under the pseudonym Caroline Keane, the drama tells the story of thirty-year-old Nancy (Shahi), a NYPD detective. With the help of her incredible observation, Nancy investigates crimes and also tries to deal with the complexities of life in the modern world. As in the books and previous movie adaptations in movies and on TV, Nancy unraveled crimes since childhood in the company of her friends childhood – Bess and George. In the CBS version, Nancy works for the New York City Police Department after graduating from college. where she was named the youngest female NYPD detective. Nancy is a real star, but after arresting the wrong guy, she was publicly accused and quit. In Pilot, Nancy tries to return to the self-confident heroine that has made her known around the world. Written by Spouses Joan Raiter and Tony Phelan (Grey's Anatomy), who share executive producer duties with Dan Jinx ("American Beauty"). Anthony Edwards will play Nancy's adoptive father, Vanessa Ferlito – George, and Felix Solis – a detective friend. In 2007, the movie "Nancy Drew" was released, starring Emma Roberts.
