Joseph Fiennes (Foreign Land) will star in the TV adaptation of Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel "The Handmaid`s Tale" by streaming service Hulu. The ten-part MGM TV drama starring Elisabeth Moss (Top of the Lake) will begin production this fall in Toronto. The premiere will take place in 2017. This is reported by the publication Deadline. The series tells about life in Gilead, a totalitarian society that occupies the former territory of the United States. Environmental disasters and declining birth rates have led to the establishment of a regime of religious fundamentalism in Gilead, in which women are considered the property of the state.
