Walt Disney and IMAX have extended their contract until 2017. Reported by the publication SlashFilm. Within the framework of this agreement, the most promising movie projects of the studio will be converted using proprietary IMAX technology and released in a network of large-format cinemas.

Among them are such movies from Lucasmovie and Marvel studios as "Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens", "Star Wars. Rogue", "Star Wars: Episode 8", "Ant-Man", "The First Avenger 3: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor 3: Rognarok. Pixar cartoons Finding Dory, Toy Story 4 and several other Walt Disney movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales, The Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland 2 and others.

It is likely that some episodes of the above pictures will be movieed with IMAX cameras, but in general, this is only a conversion.

Recall that the closest release of the Marvel project on the IMAX network at the time of this writing will be the premiere of the movie "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron", which will premiere in North America on May 1, 2015. In USA, the movie starts earlier - on April 23, 2015.
