The Walt Disney Film Studio has completely abandoned the production of the movie "Tron 3". The Hollywood Reporter reports this with reference to its sources in the company's management.

Anonymous informants emphasize that the studio never gave the green light to the creation of Tron 3, and all information about possible project participants, movieing schedule and name is nothing more than preliminary discussions.

It is also alleged that one of the participants in the third movie could have been Jared Leto, but negotiations with the actor were never held.

Note that rumors that the Walt Disney studio is ready to shoot a sequel to the movie "Tron: Legacy" have appeared repeatedly since its 2010 premiere. In 2013, director Joseph Kosinski announced that he already had a script and was ready to start working at any time.

Tron: Legacy, a sequel to the cult movie from the 80s, starred Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner, James Frain, Bo Garrett, Michael Sheen and other actors. Despite having an impressive fanbase, the project grossed a disappointing $ 400 million worldwide on a production budget of $ 170 million.
