Universal prepares to relaunch Jaws and Back to the Future

The famous series of horror movies "Jaws" and the equally famous fantastic trilogy "Back to the Future" can be further developed. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter, citing its sources, assessing the prospects for possible cooperation between Universal and DreamWorks.

The key figure in both cases is the head of DreamWorks Steven Spielberg, and in the event of a long-term contract between the studios, he can take over the implementation of these projects. Naturally, there have been no comments from interested parties on this matter yet.

It is worth noting that the creators of the "Back to the Future" trilogy, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, have repeatedly stated that they will not allow the movieing of the remake, since they own all the rights to the characters in the movies. In the summer of 2015, Zimekis confirmed that this would only be possible after his death, if his descendants gave their consent. However, it is quite possible that some kind of plan is brewing in the bowels of Universal to restart the franchise without the heroes familiar to everyone.

As for "Jaws", Spielberg participated in the creation of only the first movie, the two sequels that followed in 1978 and 1983 were created without him. At one time, the famous director refused to return to this topic, since, in his opinion, it was exhausted.
