China box office jumped 50 percent
In the first month of 2016, the cumulative box office receipts of movies in the Chinese box office rose nearly 50 percent from a year ago. Foreign movie quotas and support from the domestic movie industry enable Chinese-made movies to compete effectively with major Hollywood blockbusters.
