Justin Lin will direct a series about modern Robins Hoods
CBS has given the green light to the production of a pilot for a drama series about a group of modern-day Robin Hoods, which will be curated by the Scorpio team: executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Justin Lin and Heather Kadin, and Paul Grellong. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The plot of "A Burglar`s Guide to the City" is centered on a team of modern Robin Hoods led by a brilliant architect with a troubled past. Using their unique skills to break into any of the most reliable locks and "fortresses", the team steals illicit wealth from criminals and gives it to the wronged by the corrupt system. Grellong will write a script based on the book by Jeff Manot. Lin has been appointed director of the pilot episode. Kurtzman recently signed a partnership with CBS Television Studios and, after parting ways with business partner Roberto Orci, launched his own Secret Hideout banner, which is co-producing the Star Trek: Discovery series for CBS All Access. Robin Goode, a character in English folklore, joined the ranks of literary heroes who inspired a number of channels to take on the development of series based on their images. So, Fox is working on a police drama about the modern King Arthur, and NBC intends to shoot a procedural series about Oliver Twist, turning him into a girl.
