The Japanese will play the Bell and Damn Monster Girls
Japanese studio Kadokawa and NBCUniversal Japan intend to create a joint horror movie "Sadako vs. Kayako", which will face the two main antagonists of the cult franchises "The Ring" and "The Curse". This is reported by the Variety edition. Koji Shiraishi, who directed such popular movies in his homeland as "White Eyes" and "Cult", was appointed the director of the movie. The premiere of the project is scheduled for June 2016, the exact date at the time of this writing was not announced. The movie is expected to be released not only in conventional and stereoscopic formats, but also in 4D. It is noteworthy that initially this project was just an April Fool's joke, but then, thanks to the warm support from fans of the two franchises, it became a reality. Recall that the original movie "The Ring", based on the work of Koji Suzuki, was released in Japan in 1998. In 2002, a Hollywood remake was presented to the audience, in which a girl named Samara was the main antagonist. The Curse premiered in 2002, and its American remake was released in 2004.
